Art Car Parade

Saturday we made a last-minute decision to check out the Houston Art Car Parade taking place on Allen Parkway.  Though the weather wasn't right for laying out by the pool, the overcast skies were perfect for sitting curbside and watching the parade!  This free annual event is a must for any Houstonian.

Everyone was out to have a good time.  Not only were cars decorated, but bicycles as well.  And apparently the DMV doesn't mind drivers under 16 AND ignores open container laws, because there was a lot of both happening!  My favorite was the policeman who started and ended the parade.  He sounded like he was from New Orleans and thought he was on Bourbon Street.  His parting words, "Thanks for coming and next year bring more beer!"

Here are just a few of the cars that passed by.

Yay for veggies!

The Hare Krishnas know how to party!  Everyone started dancing when they passed by

Bill White's peeps came and passed out fans.  Thanks, Bill!

This has nothing to do with the current post, but I'm glad I found you again! I didn't catch your old blog when you put the link to the new one and then when I went to read, you had dropped off the side of blogworld! I'm glad you're still here.
